A third group of Turkish tanks may enter Syria if the YPG (Kurdish People's Protection Units) and the Democratic Union Party (PYD, the Kurdish political party) forces don’t leave the city of Manbij located on the west bank of the Euphrates, HaberTurk newspaper reported Saturday, August 27, according to Trend.

The YPG and the PYD have to comply with the agreement between the U.S. and Turkey, which requires them to leave the west bank of the Euphrates, according to the newspaper.

On Wednesday morning, the Turkish Air Force with the support of the coalition aircraft launched an operation to liberate the city of Jarabulus from the IS militants in northern Syria, near Aleppo city.

The operation was carried out under the name “Shield of the Euphrates.”

Earlier, two groups of Turkish tanks entered Syria.

Syria has been suffering from an armed conflict since March 2011, which, according to the UN, has so far claimed over 500,000 lives. Militants from various armed groups are confronting the Syrian government troops.
