Ukraine, Azerbaijan mull joint production of anti-tank missile

Ukraine and Azerbaijan are considering to establish a joint production of anti-tank missile systems and guided missiles at Azeri companies, UA Position reports.

At a meeting between defense officials of both countries, the sides discussed issues concerning the supply by the Ukrainian companies of specialized equipment for maintenance and repair of armored vehicles, the possibility of upgrading the Shturm-S anti-missile system, and questions regarding the status of implementation of the existing contracts, as well as promising areas of cooperation.

As the press service of Ukrspetsexport, part of Ukraine's State Concern Ukroboronprom, relevant talks were held between General Director of the state company Pavlo Bukin and the Deputy Minister of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan Tofik Rafiev on the sidelines of the 2nd International Defense Industry Exhibition ADEX-2016 held in Baku on September 27-30.

According to the press service, during the exhibition, the joint stand of Ukroboronprom presented the products of 19 participating enterprises, producers of military equipment. In particular, Ukraine presented the Oplot main battle tank; BTR-3 and BTR-4 and Vityaz APCs, a combat reconnaissance patrol vehicle BRDM-2Di, a Bars-8 tactical armored vehicle and a KrAZ Feona. Full-scale samples and models of aircraft, marine and radar domestic equipment, artillery and firearms, as well as military personal protective equipment have also been displayed.
