Manchester United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan "set for January move"

Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be bombed out of Manchester United in January — after only one start this season, The Sun revealed.

The Armenian flop moved to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund for £30million in July.

At the time he was considered one of Europe’s most sought-after players.

But despite impressive displays in training, the 27-year-old midfielder has failed to convince boss Jose Mourinho.

Mkhitaryan picked up a thigh injury on international duty last month and has not played for United since the Manchester derby on September 10.

Former United and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves is surprised a player of his quality keeps being overlooked.

Hargreaves, 35, said: “I can’t believe he’s not getting a look-in. He’d be a banker in my starting XI.

“He had a slow start at Dortmund too and was the players’ player of the year last season.

“He scored 23 goals and had 32 assists, which are staggering numbers.

“He’s a sensitive guy. It would’ve been perfect had he started off flying but the slow start has probably hit his confidence.”
