Cesar Acevedo's Land and Shade was the top winner at the Macondo Awards, the Colombian equivalent of the Oscars, which were announced during a ceremony held at the Faenza Theater in Bogota, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

Acevedo also picked up best director honors for his first feature film, which premiered at the Critics' Week in Cannes and chronicles a farming family struggling with rural abandon.

Klych Lopez's drama Immortal was another big winner, picking up four Macondos. Next in line was Juan Felipe Cano's thriller The Seed of Silence, starring local stars Andres Parra (El Patron del Mal) and Angie Cepeda (Jane the Virgin), which took home three awards.

The Colombian Academy of Film Arts and Sciences also presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to director, screenwriter and poet Victor Gaviria.
