Paramount’s sci-fi thriller “Arrival” has topped $100 million in worldwide box office in less than a month, Variety said.

The film has grossed $65.8 million in the U.S. and Canada and $35.1 million internationally through Thursday, December 1. Paramount Pictures handled distribution in North America with FilmNation Entertainment as the international sales agent for all territories.

“Arrival” received 10 nominations on Thursday from the Critics’ Choice Awards, including for best picture, director, actress and adapted screenplay. Adams received the best actress award from the National Board of Review, which named the movie as one of its 10 best films of 2016.

“Arrival” has grossed $9.6 million in the U.K., making it the top grosser in that market for director Denis Villeneuve. It’s also achieved that distinction in Spain with a $2.5 million total and in Australia with $4.4 million to top Villeneuve’s “Sicario” in that market.

“Arrival” premiered at the Venice Film Festival and has received strong critical support with a 93% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film, which centers on a dozen mysterious alien ships touching down on Earth, also stars Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker, Michael Stuhlbarg and Tzi Ma.

Paramount acquired U.S., Canadian and Chinese distribution rights for “Arrival” at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival while Sony acquired most international territories. The film, financed by FilmNation Entertainment and Lava Bear Films, carries a $47 million budget.
