Henrikh Mkhitaryan took to Twitter shortly after Manchester United's win over Anderlecht, saying the Red Devils are a step closer to the UEFA Europa League finals.

"What drama tonight! We're one step closer to the #UEL final! So happy we won, so happy I scored & what a goal from ," he tweeted.

The Red Devils beat Anderlecht 2-1 at Old Trafford to seal a 3-2 aggregate win, only after the tie had gone to extra time.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan put United ahead in the first half but their advantage was short lived as the Belgians grabbed an equaliser.

United netted an extra time winner through Marcus Rashford, in between scoring two disallowed goals.
