Jazz Quartet of Gary Kesayan to perform two concerts in Yerevan
"Jazz and classical music equally present in my works: fifty-fifty, and that creates a harmony in my music," Gary Kesayan voiced the formula of his jazz music at press conference on October 15 in Yerevan.

Jazz-quartet of Gary Kesayan will give concerts October 17 and 18 in the concert hall after Aram Khachaturyan in Yerevan. Famous American jazzman of Armenian origin Gary Kesayan says, his music is a kind of jazz, the core of which is Armenian music.

To satisfy expectations of the audience this year the quartet will present a new program, including two concerts, Gary Kesayan said. He stressed that the Armenian audience is very intelligent.

"This is my 6th concert in Armenia. First time I visited Yerevan in 1998, when I took part in the jazz festival. And since then it became clear that people in Armenia know and understand jazz music very well, so you need to do the maximum you can. In Yerevan one cannot do otherwise,' " the quartet vocalist Garner Thomas said.

"This is my second visit to Yerevan. Warmth and openness of Armenian listeners returned me back to Armenia," a famous American jazz vocalist Endiya said.

Musicians say they perform Gary Kesayan's works with great pleasure: "My heart is choosing the music to perform," Endiya said.

"Music of Kesayan comes from my heart and remains there at the same time," Gregory Brown who is 5th time in Yerevan said.

The concerts are organized by the Tekeyan cultural center with support of RA ministry of culture and VivaCell-MTS. ACBA Credit Agricole Bank is the main sponsor of the concert.
