Agreement on CSTO member states' special services training enters into force
The agreement on professional training for the law-enforcement, fire-prevention, rescue bodies and special services of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states entered into force.

The agreement was signed in Moscow on September 5, 2008 with a view of forming and developing a comprehensive system for personnel training in these areas within the CSTO framework. The agreement provides for fee training of personnel at the expense of the customer country on preferential and general terms using quotas set by the host country. Financial support and other kinds of support during the training are provided in line with contracts.

The agreement determines procedures for personnel training, selection of candidates, and provision of study guides as aid for developing national educational institutions.

The sides are mutually obliged to recognize the equality of education certificates and academic degree certificates issued by the host country.
