September 14 Zvartnots Airport New Arrival Hall Will Start Serving PassengersSeptember 12, 2006 - 19:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The new arrival hall of Zvartnots International Airport will start serving passengers on September 14. The new hall fully meets international norms and can simultaneously serve 4 flights. It can serve up to 1000 passengers hourly. The building of the new terminal of Zvartnots Airport is planned to be finished in May 2007. The departure hall will be functioning at the time. We remind that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the German Company of Investments and Development (DEG) will provide a credit of $30 million for a term of 7 years. The agreement on that was signed between the EBRD, DEG and Armenia International Airports. The latter company has concession management of Zvartnots airport, according to a contract concluded between the Government of Armenia and Corporation America company on December 17, 2001 for a term of 30 years. The company plans to invest some $250 million to upgrade the airport from D to B, which will allow making it a transit one, reports IA Regnum.
