New devices to be mounted in 102nd Russian baseFebruary 14, 2007 - 17:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A delegation led by chairman of the coordination group on anti-aircraft system of the CIS member states, commander-in-chief of the Russian armed forces, general Vladimir Mikhaylov arrived in Yerevan February 14 to participate in the sitting of the coordinating group and educational-military muster. When commenting on the purpose of the visit general Mikhaylov said sittings are held twice a year in one of the CIS member states and bear competitive nature. "We accepted with pleasure the invitation of the Armenian party," said he adding that working documents are supposed to be signed. According to him, during a 3-day visit the delegation will conduct some training, visit the positions of the Armenian army and the 102nd Russian base as well as outline future plans. When commenting on the possibility of technical re-equipment of the base general Mikhaylov said modernization is planned. However, he refrained from going into detail.
