Armenian Genocide resolution and position of American Armenians: U.S. internal affair

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Discussion of the H. Res. 106 calling for recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the position of the Armenian community on the issue is the internal affair of the United States and Armenia cannot interfere in it," RA Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian told a news conference in IA Regnum's press center today. At that he noted that Armenia cannot stay aside watching Ankara's denial policy. "We are surprised to see how some Congressmen yield to Turkey's policy of threats towards the Unites States. It's inadmissible," the Armenian FM said.

Armenia has never questioned the Armenian Genocide issue. "It's an incontestable fact and the whole international community is aware of it. The point is recognition. Offers to appeal to the International Court have little effect. This body is not only juridical but political as well and it may take decisions proceeding from political situation," Oskanian said.
