In the result of the secret vote held on Thursday in the parliament 112 deputies voted for and 2 MPs voted against Torosyan's candidacy with no abstainers. Torosyan was the only candidate for the post of RA NA Speaker. The Republican Party of Armenia offered his candidacy during the first session of the newly elected parliament. RPA gained parliamentarian absolute majority during the May 12 parliamentarian elections to the National Assembly, "Novosti-Armenia" reports.
