Armenia should protect historical memory

PanARMENIAN.Net - The events of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire is a tragedy of the world history, Lithuanian Defense Minister Juozas Olekas told reporters in Yerevan after attending the Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims and Museum-Institute of Armenian Genocide.



"These events remind of the history of the Lithuanian nation in the years of soviet occupation in 1940-1948," he said.



"Armenia and Lithuania should protect historical memory to ensure peace for next generations irrespective of nationality," he added.



"I am glad that Armenia and Lithuania can be full-grown members of the international community. We can create and face up the future," the Minister said, Novosti Armenia reports.
