IRI to conduct exit poll during Armenian presidential elections

PanARMENIAN.Net - RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan and U.S. Chargé d´Affairs Joseph Pennington discussed the presidential elections due in Armenia February 19, 2008.

Mr Pennington informed that the International Republican Institute will conduct exit poll during the elections. "The outcomes of the exit poll will be submitted to political forces for further promulgation," he said.

For his part, Serge Sargsyan underscored that such a survey is a good way to avoid unwarranted speculation after announcement of the results. "If not the IRI's initiative, we would invite a similar organization to conduct exit polls," the Prime Minister said, the RA government's press office reported.
