Armenian, Azeri MPs to meet January 2009

PanARMENIAN.Net - Heads of the Armenian and Azeri delegations to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) agreed to hold a meeting of MPs in January 2009.



"We fixed the date at a meeting with Azeri delegation head Samed Seyidov," said Davit Harutyunyan, chairman of the parliamentary committee on state and legal affairs, head of the Armenian delegation to PACE.



"The date was suggested by Lord Russell-Johnston, chairman of the PACE Sub-Committee on Karabakh. Postponement is conditioned by the internal political situation in Armenia and the forthcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan," he said, IA Regnum reports.
