Armenia to send medical officers and field engineers to Afghanistan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia will send medical officers and field engineers to Afghanistan, said Samvel Mkrtchyan, head of the Armenian delegation to NATO.



"Armenia doesn't intend to send peacekeeping forces to Afghanistan, but presence of medical officers and field engineers is very important," he said adding that the Armenian mission will serve within a foreign battalion. "Negotiations are underway," he added, Novosti Armenia reports.

Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
