Democracy development in Armenia important for U.S.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan met with U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch to discuss development of Armenia-U.S. relations and the steps Armenia undertakes to normalize relations with Turkey.



In discussing the domestic situation, Mr. Abrahamyan said that Armenia is consistent in fulfillment of PACE resolutions.



For her part, Ambassador Yovanovitch said that development of democracy in Armenia is important for the United States. She also said that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict should be resolved peacefully on the basis of the principle of territorial integrity and the right of nations to self-determination, the RA NA press office reported.
