RA Fine Arts Academy awarded Grand Prix in International Strogan Festival

PanARMENIAN.Net - In the Internationasl Storgan Festival organized in Moscow this April, RA National Academy of Fine Arts was awarded Theodore Parmon medal in the "Costume Design" nomination. The Armenian designers prepared two collections: "Mountain Legend" and "Nanay Fairytales", Edward Sedrakyan, President of Fine Arts Academy, told a press-conference today.



All in all, the 25 states participating in the young designers' festival displayed 500 exhibits.



Speaking about graduates' achievements, Mr. Sedrakyan said that one of them - Rima Kazoumyan, works in Emporio Armani fashion house and is one of the leading authors of their collections.



In his turn, Chairman of RA Designer's Union Martin Kalkosyan said that because Armenia has talented fashion designers it is necessary to restore clothes production in the country and export Armenian designers' works abroad.



In the International High Fashion Contest of National Costume (December 20080), ETNO-ERATO Edward Sedrakyan was awarded a diploma for the preparation and advancement of talented fashion designers.



The National Fine Arts Academy was founded 13 years ago. Every year in June, it organizes an exhibition of its students' works.
