Turkey wondering where to pass the Armenian football

PanARMENIAN.Net - At today' international conference in Yerevan, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian expressed the official view of Armenia on opening Armenian-Turkish border.

"We're currently in the stage where final decision on opening of Armenian-Turkish border should be taken. Our motivation is quite clear: we're unwilling to burden future generations with this issue. Our aim is development and proliferation of Armenia,'' he said, adding that Armenia has done its best and now the football is on Turkish filed.

In reply to his statement, representative of Turkey, International Relations Department Professor at Middle Eastern Technical University in Ankara, Hussein Bakhtchi agreed with the ball being on Turkish filed, yet noting that Turkey is wondering where to pass the Armenian football. "Our President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoghlu have a positive attitude towards opening of Armenian-Turkish border, even though Turkish people are opposed to it.''

Hussein Bakhtchi questioned Edward Nalbandian whether he shares his concern on the issue.

RA FM responded that differences and misunderstandings are present in both countries, which is natural. Still, overcoming of anti-Armenian moods is the internal issue of Turkey itself.
