Besides healthcare structures, Doctors Without Boundaries organization and Red Cross Armenia with financial assistance of Elly Lily and Co are taking active participation in a struggle against the disease. Today action participants were distributing booklets containing information about the disease. The action aims to increase society's awareness of drug-resistant tuberculosis. Currently over one third of world population is suffering from the disease. 8-10 million people in the world are getting infected annually, with 2,7-3 million of lethal outcomes. In RA official number of people sick with tuberculosis reaches 2125, 500 of whom are suffering from drug-resistant tuberculosis.
