Recognition of Armenian Genocide just for the sake of Turkey

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire is a historical fact. The recognition of that fact will be just for the sake of Turkey, President of Cyprus Dimitris Christofias told a news conference jointly organized with the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in today Yerevan. "Cyprus, one of the first countries in the world recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide. If Turkey recognizes this fact, it shows that it is ready to listen to the neighboring countries," the President of Cyprus noted.

Dimitrias Christofias welcomed the steps of the Armenian President aimed at normalizing the Armenian-Turkish relations. "I know how hard is to negotiate with Turkey, but there is no alternative path. But we also understand that neither Armenia nor Cyprus will back down in negotiations on key issues," the President of Cyprus underlined.
