Armenian Drama Theater after Petros Adamyan of Tbilisi tours in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Drama Theater after Petros Adamyan of Tbilisi tours in Armenia from July 26 to 31. Five performances "Hatabala" of Gabriel Sundukyan, "You're my onely in the world" of Sayat-Nova, "Run from your wife" of Raymond Cooney, "Keepers of ruins" of Gurgen Khanjian and "Uncle Baghdasar" of Hakob Paronyan will be presented to Armenian audience.



Tour is organized by ministries of culture of Armenia and Georgia, as well as RA ministry of Diaspora.

"It is very important for us to maintain creative connections with Armenia and present our productions to the Armenian audience, " the director Roman Matiashvili told a press conference today said director.

In turn, artistic director of the Tbilisi Armenian Drama Theater Armen Bayanduryan said: "Our 153-year-old theater is undergoing a new stage of development, young actors came to a 153-year-old theater, bringing young audience."



Besides, staging plays by Armenian and Georgian classics, theater's repertory includes plays by contemporary Armenian playwrights.



"The building of the theater is repaired every 15-20 years, but now the building needs a major overhaul," the director of the theater, Felix Khachaturian, said.



Operating through the funds of Georgia's state budget Armenian Drama Theater, also receives funding from the Government of Armenia.
