PanARMENIAN.Net - On September 5, VivaCell-MTS announced the opening of the Tumanyan Fairy Tale Day International Puppet Theater Festival in Dsegh, Lori, the home village of the world known Armenian writer Hovhannes Tumanyan.

"VivaCell-MTS support to Armenian children is a commitment we are adamant to keep. A smile brought to our children's face is worth treasures. The international festival of puppet theaters in Armenia is helping us to support the preservation of Armenian cultural traditions and educating our young generation in different tools," stated VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.

Now for the fourth year, the festival gathers puppeteer companies from Armenia, Lithuania, Hungary, Slovenia, Georgia, and Nagorno-Karabakh. Among the participants of the festival is the "Puy-puy" Theater after Derenik Demirchyan from Javahk.

The opening ceremony was followed by open-air celebration activities and the first performances of the participants. The main program of the festival will continue in the following days in the halls of the Dsegh culture house and the village administration premise and will be summarized with the awarding ceremony on September 10.

The festival will be finalized on September 18 by a theatrical performance in Yerevan and the honoring of the festival supporters and friends.

The program of the festival also includes master classes in puppet art, exhibitions, daily evening clubs, excursions, and film screenings.
