In the first round, Sargsyan suffered a defeat from France's Etienne Bacrot. In the second and third rounds, he made a draw with Emil Sutovsky (Israel) and Bartosz Socko (Poland) respectively. In the fifth round, Sargsyan will play vs. David Howell (United Kingdom). Standings after 4 rounds: Bacrot, Sutovsky - 3 points; Sasikiran, Muzychuk - 2.5 points; Sargsyan, Stefanova - 2 points, Michiels, Timman, Socko - 1.5 points, Howell - 0.5 points.
