Ian Gillan, Tony Iommi, Jeff Downs awarded with Armenian Order of Honor

PanARMENIAN.Net - On behalf of the Armenian President, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan bestowed Order of Honor to Deep Purple founder and vocalist Ian Gillan, Black Sabbath guitar player Tony Iommi, Asia rock group's keyboard player Jeff Downs and Founder and Chairman of the Australian advocacy organization Do Something! Jon Dee.



Queen guitarist Brian May and Pink Floyd guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour were also awarded.



Prime Minister also handed service medals to Pat Cash, who assisted the recording of Led Zeppelin's Rock 'n' Roll cover version in the framework of Rock Aid Armenia project in 1991.



By the government's decision, all musicians who in 1989 participated in record of Smoke of the Water song and co-authors of the song were honored with service medals.
