Next-conference of foreign-speaking Armenian writers due in Moscow in 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 6-9, Los Angeles hosted a conference of Armenian writers living abroad. "Conference bore an analytical character. It was helpful not only in terms of promoting ties among participants but also determining the trends of contemporary literature," Professor Peter Kauai, Head of Armenian Studies Chair at California University (UCLA), told journalists.



Chair of Writers' Union of Armenia Levon Ananyan noted in turn that «Conference played a crucial role in mobilizing the potential of foreign-speaking Armenian writers, most of whom have gained recognition in the literary community of many states.



Conference brought together over 60 writers whose common topic of discussion was Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire.



«No need to fear that in case of Genocide recognition the entire literature will lose its importance, because works of foreign-speaking writers of Armenian decent tell about people and their feats,» Peter Kauai said, summing up his speech.



By the proposal of UAR President Ara Abrhamyan, next conference of foreign speaking Armenian writers will take place in Moscow, Levon Ananyan said.
