Turkish MFA "Condemns" Adoption of Armenian Genocide Bill by Argentinean Senate

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a statement condemning the decision of the Argentinean Senate Lower House to announce April 24 the day of the Armenian Genocide and make it a nonworking day. The statement says that Turkey "regrets at the adoption of the decision that is an example of falsification of history out of political aims."

Official Ankara has earlier expressed "anxiety"over Argentina's moves and Prime Minister Erdogan has addressed a letter of protest to President Nestor Carlos Kirchner. The letter says that "such decrees damage bilateral relations, create a wrong impression about Turkey among Argentinean people and incite evil and hatred." The Turkish Premier also said he hopes that President Krichner will not ratify the Senate's decision.
