  RA President fires Deputy Defense MinisterApril 2, 2008 - 13:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 2, Armenia's President Robert Kocharian signed a decree on dismissal of lieutenant general Manvel Grigoryan from the post of Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia, the RA leader's press office reported.Lieutenant general Manvel Grigoryan, chairman of Yerkrapah union, backed former President Levon Ter-Petrosyan at the February 19 presidential election. The RA Constitution bans military from engaging in politics.   Top stories Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
