First-night of 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle' performance to take place in Yerevan on February 28February 26, 2009 - 19:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The first night of the play «The Caucasian Chalk Circle» will be staged at Gabriel Sundukyan State National Academic Theatre on February 28. The play is based on the similar play by German dramatist and prose writer Bertold Brecht. The staging is directed by Tigran Gasparyan.'The Caucasian Chalk Circle' was written by Bertold Brecht within 2 months in 1945 and reedited in 1953-1954. The plot is based on an old Eastern drama 'The Chalk Circle' and a well-known biblical parable about King Solomon. Outside Germany 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle' is one of Brecht's most frequently staged plays.
