"National Gallery" International Music Festival to launch on April 22

PanARMENIAN.Net - Festival's Artistic Board is headed by famous composer Eduard Mirzoyan. The board members are composers Tigran Mansouryan and Yervand Yerkanyan, music expert Margarita Roukhkyan and chief conductor of Opera and Ballet Theatre Karen Dourgaryan. The founders of the project are Mariam Shaghinyan and Gagik Nazaryan.



"Within the framework of the festival, we are planning to celebrate Tigran Mansouryan's 70th anniversary," Mariam Shaghinyan said, adding at the same time that the festival program also includes première performances featured new trio "Yerevan".



Says composer Tigran Mansouryan, "My works which, though written many years ago, were never performed in Yerevan, will be presented at the festival."



The participants of the festival will be the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, the State Ensemble of Soloists, the trio "Yerevan", as well as musicians Maxim Novikov (Russia), Colin Jacobson (USA) and Carla Kieglstain (USA).



Like in 2008, the festival will be held under the patronage of Vivacell-MTS company and the RA Ministry of Culture.
