Italian restorers to complete works on 'Birth of Toros Roslin' fresco of Minas

PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 23 Italian restorers will arrive to Armenia to continue restoration works on the "Birth of Toros Roslin" fresco of Minas Avetisian.

In 2007 the Armenian government allocated 5 million 578.6 thousand AMD to restore the fresco of Minas Avetisian , preserved in the territory of the Gyumri electrotechnical plant.

Thanks to the efforts of the Armenian sculptor living in Florence Vigen Avetisyan the ministry of culture of Armenia invited professionals from Palazzo Spinelli Institute of Restoration (Italy) to carry out necessary works.

Restoration started in summer of 2008. The second phase of works continued in autumn last year, when the fresco was replaced to the museum of Minas Avetisian, the village of Jajur.
