Golden Apricot on wheels to take place in Artsakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - The International Film Festival Golden Apricot will visit Artsakh for the third time. Best movies of the Golden Apricot 6-th International Film Festival will be screened again in the framework of the "Golden Apricot on wheels" in Stepanakert and Shushi between 19 and 23 of August.



"Inhabitants of Armenian regions have few opportunities to watch real cinema since cinema halls were sold to restaurants, and today the only way of watching movies is through television," Harutyun Khachatryan, director and founder of the Golden Apricot festival said.



Dwellers of Karabakh will watch the films, winners of this year: "The other bank" by Georgi Ovashvili, "Boundary" documentary by Harutyun Khachatryan, "Autumn" by Ozcan Alper, "Vandals of the 21-th century" by Ashot Movsisyan and Spartak Gharabaghtsyan.



"Mainly Armenian and Russian films will be screened in Artsakh, "Ara Khanjian, deputy director of Golden Apricot told a press conference in Yerevan today.



According to him, Armenian films, as well as movies and cartoons for children are in brisk demand in the Armenian regions. Ara Khanjian added, that the "Golden Apricot on wheels" will be opened with screening of the masterpiece of Sergei Paradjanov "Color of pomegranate", not only because of its 40th anniversary but also to fulfill numerous requests of Artsakh people in recent years.
