Almazian's Obsession music band to open Skopje Summer 2010 festivalJune 17, 2010 - 15:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Almazian's Obsession music band, under the guidance of Armenian violinist Khachatur Almazian will open Skopje Summer 2010 festival at the Grand Hall of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet on June 21, 2010. Almazian's Obsession was born at the end of 2007 with the premise of changing the approach towards classical music with a mission to fuse brilliant virtuosity with female beauty. This unique show, established by violinist Khachatur Almazian and 20 attractive ladies with exceptional musical talent, was labelled by the media as the “New Classic for the New Millennium". Their repertoire in crossover stile combines classical pieces in new arrangements as well as ethno world music and compositions written and dedicated exclusively to them. During its short time of existence Almazian's Obsession has appeared on TV stations worldwide, published a multimedia DVD, participated in numerous festivals and, above all, was personally selected by renowned film director Emir Kusturica to open his first Kustendorf Film and Music Festival in 2008. The first European tour of Almazian's Obsession is planned for next season; also, a much awaited video clip directed by Emir Kusturica is in preparation for release at the end of 2008.
