Ruben Hakhverdyan: I don't mind performance of my songs in Turkish

PanARMENIAN.Net - Singer-songwriter Ruben Hakhverdyan said that nobody has applied to him with respect to performance of his songs in Turkish.

“If someone applies to me, I would not object to it, provided that copyrights are protected. My songs have been performed in many languages. Above all I care about preservation of the true meaning of the lyrics,” Hakhverdyan told a press conference on September 3.

However, according to him, copyrights are not observed in Armenia.

Hakhverdyan also said that policy and music should not be mixed. He noted that there are a lot of forbidden topics in Armenia. Meanwhile, according to him, there was no Armenian culture during the Soviet times. “We had a creative intelligentsia, while all its representatives lived in Western Armenia,” concluded Hakhverdyan.
