Serge Avedikian: I address rather cruel, even wild themes in my workSeptember 11, 2010 - 17:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - French Filmmaker Serge Avedikian, the winner of the Best Short Film prize at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival, said that he addresses rather cruel, sometimes even wild themes in his creative work. “But I am against films pressure on audience,” Avedikian told a press conference in Yerevan. According to him, ReAnimania festival provides young filmmakers with the opportunity to find ways for creation of films in small groups. “Besides, watching only 10 different films of the festival, Armenians will get an idea of what is taking place in the animation world,” the filmmaker said. Avedikian added that the festival has served as a good reason for meeting with leading animators of various studios, who arrived in Yerevan at the invitation of ReAnimania festival organizers. “I am happy with the fact that I managed to participate in two international festivals in Yerevan this year – ReAnimania and Golden Apricot,” noted Avedikian. Moscow cinema will host the screening and discussion of Serge Avedikian’s Barking Island film on September 13.
