Theater-X festival to host over 30 metropolitan and regional troupes in 2011March 21, 2011 - 15:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Theater-X 4th republican and theater festival will host over 30 metropolitan and regional troupes, festival president Ara Khzmalyan stated. At news conference in Yerevan, Khzmalyan pointed out to the progress achieved since 2007, the festival foundation year, with the number of participant troupes growing from 8 to 31. The festival is held under the motto Cultural Unity, Festival of Discussions. Every performance within festival framework will be followed by discussion, involving theater critics, filmmakers, actors, philologists and reporters. The festival, to launch March 21 in Hrachya Ghaplanyan’s State Dramatic Theater, will be opened with a performance drawing on Juan José Alonso Millan’s play, “Potassium cyanide, alone or with milk?” Upon completion of the Festival on April 12, the event will be continued in Armenian regions of Kapan, Vanadzor and Etchmiadzin. Festival winners will be awarded special prizes at ceremonial closure due April 28 in State Puppet Theater.
