The Azerbaijani Defense Minister paid another visit to Pakistan last week. Safar Abiyev has become a frequent visitor at Karachi, where he finds a warm welcome. Last time, in May 2001, General Abiyev delivered to General Musharraf the invitation of Heydar Aliyev to visit Baku. In his turn, General Musharraf invited the Azerbaijani President to Karachi. While the Presidents are trying to find time for a personal meeting, their Defense Ministers pave the way for a fruitful cooperation of the countries in the military sphere.
