ARMENIA HAS FULFILLED ALMOST ALL ITS COMMITMENTS TOWARDS PACE

Armenia fulfilled one more commitment undertaken for the membership in the Council of Europe. Recently the country’s Parliament adopted the law on ombudsman creating a new institute supposed to protect the rights of the citizens. Before that, the Parliament approved in first reading the draft law on alternative military service. In the beginning of September the Armenian legislators ratified the 6th protocol of the European Convention on human rights supposing the abolishment of death penalty. So, Yerevan confirmed its ability to follow the commitments undertaken while becoming member of the CoE.
