February 9, 2007 On February 7 the second "Project of the Century"- Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railroad construction agreement was signed in Tbilisi. It was such a significant event, that the Turkish Prime-Minister and the President of Azerbaijan visited the President of Georgia for signing the agreement. The history repeats itself - in 1999 Heydar Aliyev, Eduard Shevarnadze and Suleyman Demirel in Istanbul with US assistance signed an intergovernmental agreement on Caspian oil transportation through Baku-Tbilisi-Jeikhan route.  |
