The Youth Association at the Moscow Organization of the Union of Armenians of Russia will hold a round table discussion titled “Sumgait Pogroms in Azerbaijan. The reality of Khojalu events. Facts against lies. Parallels between the past and present.”

ART-EXPO 2010 second annual exhibition was held in Artists' Union of Armenia on February 12. Over 50 cultural organizations and NGOs presented their achievements of the previous year. According to the organizers, the exhibition is a chance to introduce the achievements of Armenian art to public, to establish new links with International partners and to strengthen cultural cooperation between Armenian and international organizations.

Armenian mobile services market edged closer to full saturation in 2009, with nearly every working adult in the country of 3.2 million people having one or more mobile phones, and the number of mobile subscribers passing the 2,5 million mark. While the mobile operators say that there is still a lot of room to grow and compete, the question is – how exactly that competition will take place, and will the customers and the telecom sector benefit from the fight for market or otherwise.

The new OSCE Chairman-in-Office has started his visit to the South Caucasus. Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev naturally lays the emphasis on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. However, neither he will be able to somehow settle the conflict, as the Turkic factor may be pressing on the Kazakhstani FM. Or, at least, they hope so in Baku, not realizing or pretending not to realize that the OSCE Chairman-in-Office cannot simply take one or the other side.

If the second wave of the crisis does not hit the world economy, Armenia's GDP in 2010 would change from -3% to +3 per cent, Manuk Hergnyan, chairman of the "Economy and Values” research center told a press conference on February 11 in Yerevan. However, according to him, the inflation rate within the current year can vary from 6 to 9 per cent.

Last week was marked by discussion and comments on the Armenian President’s message to his Turkish counterpart, and Serzh Sargsyan’s speech in the British Royal Institute of International Affairs Chatham House. This week, the President of Armenia also submitted to the Parliament the Armenian-Turkish Protocols.

According to RA Ministry of Diaspora, there are 75 Armenology centers outside Armenia. However, not all of them are active due to lack of funds. The centers, which are mainly sponsored by Armenian funds and organizations, have appreciable achievements in Armenology development and national identity retention.
