“Claims are not reduced to opening of the Armenian-Turkish border or recognition of the Armenian Genocide,” representative of the ARFD youth wing said.
“The history of Turkey and Armenia shared can only be evaluated through an impartial and scientific approach based on indisputable evidence and documents that are free of prejudices,” the statement said.
“Recognition of the Armenian Genocide can serve as a catalyst in securing Turkey's status as a European democracy worthy of full European Union membership,” the Congressman says.
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom suggests keeping Turkey on its "Watch List" as one of the most serious offenders of freedom of religion towards non-Muslim communities.
