Wind plays yet another “evil joke” on Azeri flag
On the night of 1/ 2 February, technical services of Azeri Ministry of Emergency Situations discovered that the flagpole of “the greatest state flag” set at Baku square was swaying.
Mysticisms around Azeri flag continue. According to Azeri media reports, on the night of 1/ 2 February, at 3:00 a.m., technical services of Azeri Ministry of Emergency Situations discovered that the flagpole of “the greatest state flag” set at Baku square was swaying. This hasn’t been the first case when the wind was playing an “evil joke” on the national symbol of our neighbors.

In September 2010, only several days after the flag-raising ceremony (which cost a neat sum of USD25 million) at Baku square, national symbol of Azerbaijan was torn by a blast of wind. At the time, Azeri authorities attempted to find an explanation to a strange incident.

It’s worth mentioning that at the flag-raising ceremony Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that “the flag will never be taken down and will soon be raised over Karabakh”. However, the nature itself, resenting Aliyev’s wish, foretells that Azeri flag will never be raised in independent Karabakh, no matter what sum is spent to set a flagpole. Ilham Aliyev must not waste his time on illusions, but rather think of better securing the Azeri flag in Baku.
