Double-digit growth expected in tourism field of Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Ara Petrosyan said that the growth in the tourism field of Armenia is irreversible.

“We expect 11-12% growth by the yearend,” Ara Petrosyan told an event dedicated to the World Tourism Day marked in Yerevan for the second time.

The Deputy Minister noted that even last year, when 4% drop was recorded in the tourism field worldwide, it grew in Armenia by 7%.

According to Ara Petrosyan, 438,000 tourists visited Armenia as of the end of August 2010. “I predict that the number of tourists visited Armenia will exceed 600,000 by the yearend, reaching 630,000-640,000 people,” said Ara Petrosyan.
