14 programs at amount of AMD 36.6bln to be implemented in Armenia’s transport sector in 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan said that in 2011 the Ministry is going to implement 15 measures against 8 in 2010, including 7 in the transport sphere and 8 – in the communication field.

“14 programs at the total amount of AMD 36.6bln will be implemented in 2011 due to funds of the state budget,” Vardanyan told a press conference in Yerevan.

Specifically, 249km-long road sections and 6 bridges will be completely rehabilitated. Besides, AMD 5.5bln will be spent for works on maintenance and exploitation of roads.

Presenting the program of measures in 2011, Vardanyan noted that a bill on introducing amendments to the RA Law on Administrative Violations will be submitted to the RA government.

In addition, works on roads classification, creation of joint geo information system, etc will be carried out.

Vardanyan added that legislative grounds for systematization of regular and irregular transportation will be created and a range of laws will be amended, what will allow increasing tax revenues of the state budget.
