Computer for Everyone pilot program to be launched in Karabakh in 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - Pilot stage of Computer for Everyone program will be launched in the beginning of 2011 in Karabakh.

“The main part of the program will be initiated in 2012, in case of successful completion of pilot stage,” Enterprise Incubator Foundation chairman Bagrat Yengibaryan told a news conference.

“USD 1 million will be allocated by banking sector for pilot stage implementation. In accordance with agreement signed, computer equipment sale points were selected, with bank selection still in progress. Financial mechanisms will be developed to increase affordability of computers, and provide internet access for Karabakh population,” Yengibaryan said.

Armenia’s experience in Computer for Everyone program implementation will be used in Karabakh project.

Computer for Everyone program is implemented by the Armenian government, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft corporations in partnership with Unicomp company and ACBA-Credit Agricole bank. The pilot project of the program was launched on September 22, 2009.
