Armenia has leading positions in field of cyber security in region

PanARMENIAN.Net - Director of the Armenian Center of National and International Studies (ACNIS) Richard Giragosian said that Armenia has leading positions in the field of cyber security as compared with the region’s countries.

Armenia has ratified the European Convention on Cybercrime and prioritizes the IT field, Giragosian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“It is interesting that cyber security is an important element of Armenia’s national security. It is Armenia’s advantage compared to Azerbaijan and other neighboring countries. Basically it is conditioned by the fact that we are at network war: Azerbaijani and Turkish hackers aim to attack Armenia’s state and private websites,” he said.

According to the expert, Armenia has conceived in this war the importance of cyber security in state, economic and military fields.
