RPA’s 2012 result must be no worse than in 2007, MP says

PanARMENIAN.Net - MP of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Gagik Minasyan said that at May 6 parliamentary elections the ruling RPA must at least demonstrate the same result as in 2007 elections.

According to Minasyan, his confidence is based on the highest rating of the party and its leader, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Asked at a news conference how RPA can expect much success under the problems the country is experiencing, Minasyan said: “Our citizens are well aware of the problems Armenia and the whole world suffer because of the global crisis.”

RPA member mentioned that Armenia has already achieved the development level it used to have prior to the crisis, while many countries still fail in this.

Reminding that no social programs were cut in Armenia even during hardest periods, Minasyan said that recent positive economic developments along with authorities’ success in domestic and foreign policy provide basis for RPA’s confidence.

RPA member also mentioned that he personally believes a coalition will be formed again after the parliamentary elections. According to him, this opinion is based on previous experience and the current coalition memorandum.
