Zooey Deschanel, Domhnall Gleeson to star in "About Time" dramedy

"New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel and Irish thesp Domhnall Gleeson are in talks to star in Working Title Films' low-budget time-travel dramedy "About Time," which "Love Actually" helmer Richard Curtis will direct from his own script, Variety reported.Gleeson has an offer to play Tim, a young man who comes from a family of time-travelers. When Tim learns of his unique gift from his father, he uses his newfound abilities to change situations for the better.

Deschanel is making a deal to play his love interest, Mary. The "500 Days of Summer" star was being sought to topline Fox 2000's comedy "He's Fucking Perfect," and while no deal has closed on "About Time," Deschanel currently favorites the latter project to fill her shooting schedule while on hiatus from Fox's hit series.

Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing "About Time" for Working Title, which also produced Curtis' 2009 pic "Pirate Radio." London-based shingle recently wrapped production on Joe Wright's adaptation of "Anna Karenina," which co-stars Gleeson, who played Bill Weasley in both installments of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Outside of the "Harry Potter" franchise, Gleeson has appeared in "True Grit," "Never Let Me Go" and James Marsh's recent Sundance pic "Shadow Dancer." He next co-stars in Lionsgate's upcoming "Dredd" reboot.

Deschanel recently co-starred in the studio comedies "Your Highness" and "Our Idiot Brother." Curtis, who most recently wrote Steven Spielberg's "War Horse" with Lee Hall, is also working on a script titled "Trash" for director Stephen Daldry.

Working Title is currently producing Tom Hooper's adaptation of "Les Miserables" and Ron Howard's racing pic "Rush." It's also gearing up to start filming Dan Mazer's romantic comedy "I Give It a Year" and John Crowley's untitled thriller starring Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall.
