Orinats Yerkir plans to double parliamentary seats – party member

Orinats Yerkir’s parliamentary group leader Heghine Bisharyan commented on the party’s expectations for the forthcoming elections, noting the intention to double the number of its seats in future parliament.

She noted that the party currently comprises 160.000 members and will present its election program on April 8, which aims to target all layers of the Armenian society.

She further commented on the media reports suggesting inclusion of the driver of the National Security Council (NSC) administration in the list, noting that various society layers are represented in the party’s candidates list, and the driver has two higher education degrees.

Armenian parliamentary elections are due on May 6, with eight political parties and one bloc (Armenian National Congress) running for them. Orinats Yerkir’s proportional list is topped by NSC secretary Artur Baghdasaryan, head of the party’s parliamentary group Heghine Bisharyan and RA Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan.
