Today, on March 30, Orange Armenia and one of the three largest Russian operators MegaFon announced the launch of a strategic partnership.

Thanks to this new cooperation, Orange customers will henceforth benefit from unprecedented tariffs when roaming in Russia. In particular, when using the roaming service in MegaFon network, Orange Armenia customers will make and receive calls to and from Orange Armenia and MegaFon customers at only 30 AMD/minute rate.

“Orange is a powerful international player, and we are keen to provide our customers with the best deals not only in Armenia, but also in roaming, especially for those countries they travel the most. Russia is one of the most popular destinations for Armenians, and we are happy today to offer the same tariff as for local calls in Armenia, Together with MegaFon we make a revolution in roaming service,” Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Duthoit said.

These roaming rates are available from April 1 to June 30.

Corporate Communications Manager of MegaFon Karen Asoyan, in turn, added that, “The offer proves that roaming can be a popular service.”

On MegaFon network Orange Armenia customers will have other advantages as well. The minute rate for all other incoming calls and for outgoing calls to other Russian operators will cost AMD 60,while calls to other operators’ customers in Armenia will be charged at 120 AMD/min. Orange Armenia customers will also have an exclusive tariff for GPRS roaming: only 90 AMD/MB, MegaFon press service reported.
